Workflow Design

    Any worksheets in the ExcelServer report could be added a Workflow. A Workflow must include all the sequential processes (tasks), involved performers, and related deadlines

    Steps :

1. Selecting "Create New" or "Open" a Template, "Workflow" item will be seen in the menu.

2. Click "Workflow"

Process Name: Workflow name.

Process Description: Current Workflow Description.

After input the "Name" and "Descriptions", click "OK" to start the Workflow design procedures.

3. In Workflow design environment

There is a new 'worksheet' named "workflow". On this new sheet, there is a tool box named "Workflow Design".

4. New Task

Click "New Task" on the tool box.

(1) Task Information:

Task Name: the name of the new task.

Description: new task description

"Start Task" -- if this is chosen, this task would be the start task for the entire workflow. As a rule in Excel Server 2004, all Workflow must have an start task.

"Save data after submit" -- if it is chosen, this task would be saved into the database after its submission. User could find it at "My Workbench" --> "Report Data" .

Deadline:

Time out after -- it indicates the time of the deadline, and the task name would turn to red color in the task performer's "Work Items" list.

When timeout goto -- if it is chosen, the Workflow would go to the defined stage once the deadline is reached.

(2) Authorities

Click "Select..." from the "Work Section":

Switching to the "Sheet 1" of the worksheet, and select intended cells and/or area. Once it is finished, click "OK".

5. New Flow

Click "Workflow Design" --> "New Flow", and sequentially click the start task and following tasks:

Click "Processing When:

All data fields on the worksheet are shown on a pop-up window named "Input Conditions". They can be used to set various structural expressions with all available logical operators.

6. Build A Complete Task Workflow Diagram

To build a complete task workflow diagram, users may use or reuse the above Workflow design steps repeatedly.

Note: "Workflow" worksheet is not shown at the stage of Fill Report.
